What make TAZ6 best among the rest?

This TAZ 6 comes with the same industrial looking design, with extruder aluminium built open framework. Majority non-metal parts of the printer are themselves printed 3D, and just like the previous model the plans for building TAZ 6 are available online.

Still, this latest Taz 6 offers number of improvements as compared to it previous model Taz 5. The best among the all is the print bed auto-leveling feature, it uses 4 metallic discs to detect the level. The extruder touches each disc which completes the circuit and ultimately detects the print location. This feature avoids manual leveling of bed, for setup and calibration it give user much ease. Furthermore, there is a small, felt pad included which automatically cleans the extruder before each print.

How it Work?

The TAZ’s large LCD screen and SD card slot enable the printer to work without connected computer. As there is no wireless connection so to control the printer you have to connect LCD or USB. Unlike many other it doesn’t allow group usage, but with the 3rd party software (Octoprint) it also offers this feature.

Print Bed

Like top 3D printers, the print bed of TAZ 6 is covered with polytherimide (plastic material). It can reach maximum temperature of 248o Fahrenheit with printing area of 11.7” x 10.8”. It is capable of printing up to 9.8” height. The printer also include large extruder heater to melt the filament material, and three extruder cooling fan. The extruder can reach up to an impressive temperature of 572o Fahrenheit and capable of to print with nylon as well (require high temperature).

Simple Interface

It has control dial on printer’s body and fairly simple interface, while printing from Cura, you can control through control screen that pops up when you push the control button. It is not too quite in operation there are little buzz and clunk noises when printer head moves.  It very versatile printer, very fast and slow in operation, specifically depends on you requirement
